Biography of Dr. Gy Yatros At the time he completed his studies, Dr. Yatros had the distinction of being the youngest graduate in the history of the University of Kentucky's College of Dentistry. After receiving his Doctorate of Dental Medicine (DMD) in 1989, he strengthened his dental and reconstructive skills at various prestigious dental practices and by overseeing the dental care for several Bay Area nursing homes. These post-doctoral experiences gave Dr. Yatros valuable knowledge and experience in various phases of dentistry, including geriatrics, pediatrics, prosthetic, reconstructive and cosmetic procedures.

In 1992, Dr. Yatros began his private practice on Anna Maria Island. Dr. Yatros states, "I truly enjoy helping people experience my oral health and smile reconstruction which not only restores their healthy smile, but in fact can dramatically impact their overall lives." He prides himself on being state-of-the-art and ensures this philosophy by routinely attending numerous continuing education seminars. He was the first dentist to obtain CEREC 3 technology in Manatee County and still is one of only a few dentists in his area trained and specializing in CEREC 3, which offers “same day crowns” and 3D imaging of the patient’s mouth.

In 2001, he added to his mission by launching the Island Dental Spa. Now he adds, "Our new mission not only includes being on the cutting edge of technology but also emphasizes the importance of dental health and at the same time striving to make sure our patients enjoy their visits by offering spa-like treatments. Our goal is help our patients be less fearful while they relax and enjoy the procedures in the utmost comfort."

• Selected as Product Evaluator by CRA (Clinical Research Associates), one of the United States' most respected independent, non-profit research foundations. This honor and obligation is only bestowed to approximately 400 dentists worldwide
• CEREC technology expert; first in the county with CEREC 3 and public speaker for Patterson Dental Corporation presenting the technology and techniques to dentists statewide
• Received Higher Dental Education through the highly respected Pankey Institute having completed four of the seven required continuums of study
• President of the Manatee Dental Society through April 2005 as well as Executive Board member for the past six years
• Chairman of the Advisory Board of the Manatee Technical Institute (MTI) Dental Assisting program (2004-2005)
• Stays abreast of improvements in cosmetic dental technology by attending various continuing education seminars each year. Most recently, the Florida Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry in September 2004 where he attended lectures given by ABC Extreme Makeover's Dr. Bill Dorfman
• Member in good standing of the American Dental Association, Academy of General Dentistry, American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, Florida Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry (Charter Member), Academy of Computerized Dentistry, Florida Dental Association, West Coast Dental Association

• TV Interviewee featured during sweeps as Tampa Bay’s First Dental Spa on WTTA 38 Tampa WB Affiliate in February 2004 and providing expert opinion on the growth of Dental Spas nationwide
• Public speaker for elementary school children presenting the importance of Oral Health
• Presented High School Commencement Address in 1999 in Barbourville, Kentucky and was recognized as Outstanding Alumnae by the Board of Education
