Kristen is the dedicated licensed dental hygienist at Island Dental Spa. With 25 years of experience in the dental field, including 18 years specifically in dental hygiene, she is passionate about helping her patients achieve optimal oral health. She graduated from the University of South Florida with a Bachelor of Arts in Communication in 2003 and went on to earn an Associate of Science in Dental Hygiene from Hillsborough Community College in 2007. Upon graduation, she received the Hu-Friedy Golden Scaler Award for Clinical Excellence and completed the Florida State Local Anesthesia for Dental Hygienist certificate. Kristen is licensed by the Florida State Dental Board and the Southeast Regional Testing Agency, accepted by 36 state dental boards.

She believes in a gentle and compassionate approach to dental care, which puts her patients at ease and ensures a positive dental experience. She examines patients for signs of oral abnormalities, infections, and diseases while providing preventive care including educating patients on the importance of oral health. Throughout her career she has gained extensive experience in specialized areas including pediatric dentistry, periodontal therapy, and advanced dental techniques making her proficient in a wide range of dental hygiene procedures. Continuously striving to enhance her skills and committed to staying current with the latest techniques and technology in dentistry, Kristen dedicates herself to ongoing education.

In her spare time, you can find her fishing from her flats boat along the mangroves lining the intracoastal waterways of Florida’s west coast, where she searches for snook, redfish, and flounder in the shallow waters. She also enjoys collecting seashells at the beach, cooking, gardening, and spending time with her family and friends.
